Fun Factor
Chew bones may not be the most exciting dog toy in your collection, but as far as chewable dog bones go this one has some great added features to spice things up a bit. The Nylabone Braided Bone comes as advertise with a braided texture along the bone and little nubs on the ends of the bone. This gives my dog a bit of grip for the dog to bite on to and can really hear them squeak his teeth clean when I play tug with Eli. It also has an infused vanilla flavor which is barely noticeable but at least doesn’t smell like a harsh rubber smell!
Quality & Durability
This is definitely well built and is up there as far as indestructible chew bones are concerned. After two years of solid use it does not have any signs of wear, crack marks or even bite marks. It has kept its shape and color and looks practically new still.
Safety
Since it is so solidly built it is not a dog toy I worry about. I can use it to play rough as a tug toy with Eli, fetch it across the yard or just leave it with him unattended to chew on.
Indoor: It’s got a fair amount of weight to it so I would watch out throwing around breakable objects.
Outdoor: The braided texture can pick up a bit more dirt than just a regular smooth rubber surface though I did not notice too much of a difference. Wash as needed with soap and water.
Value
The toy has held up very well and is always nice to hear it squeak in my dog’s teeth while using it. It let’s me know that it’s giving his teeth and gums a good brushing and having fun doing it. It’s not his favorite toy but Eli still enjoys playing with it when he feels like a good chew, fetch or tug session.
Final Thoughts
I really didn’t know what to expect out of this bone as I got this after my dog’s teething, super chewing phase. Regardless, my dog still loves to chew a lot and this thing satisfies his needs without falling apart, all while cleaning his teeth. That is a win-win for me and Eli.
